12/30/2009 - Arizona Golf Top Picks

For 20 years we have been known as the RTJ golf and Southeast golf experts—Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. After expanding earlier this year in to Arizona, our customers have grown to trust us for their Arizona golf vacations as well.

Arizona boasts some of the finest golfing conditions in the US with plenty of sunshine and some of the most luxurious resorts. Here are some of our top picks that customers have raved about.

Westin Kierland Golf ResortThe Westin Kierland Resort & Spa provides not only lush accommodations, but is located in the heart of some of the best shopping and dining in the Phoenix & Scottsdale area. It is also home to the Kierland Golf Club, a fantastic set of 27-holes designed by Scott Miller that provides both desert and high prairie terrain.

The centrally located Xona Resort Suites is the perfect home base for golf groups that want the accommodations of home and the luxuries of a resort. The suites feature a full kitchen and living area, providing a perfect way to spend time off the course with your golf group. You also will be delighted by the onsite dining and 7 different pools.

A few courses that should be on every golf travelers bucket list: Whilrwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass features two 18-hole layouts and both are difficult and stunning. Whirlwind is one of the few golf courses in the area that doesn’t have homes lining any of the fairways, so you are assured stunning views. The Phoencian Golf Club has 27 holes that will enchant and delight. The course sits at the foothills of Camelback Mountain and has foliage, ponds and elevation changes on every hole. We-Ko-Pa Golf Club is a 36-hole facility that also is a must-play golf experience. These two courses provide dramatic views of Sonoran desert and mountains without the clutter of homes.
 Longbow Golf Club, Phoenix AZ
Two courses are on our ‘BEST BUY’ list, McCormick Ranch Golf Club and Longbow Golf Club. McCormick Ranch is a 36-hole Desmond Muirhead design that provides plenty of shade and large lakes along with challenge at every turn. Longbow is a true desert golf experience and has stunning views of Red Mountain.  It was recently honored by Golfweek Magazine as one of the top 20 public access courses in the state, and for good reason.
