Punta Cana: VIPs and Skeptics Welcome
“Paradise” is a term that I wish the travel industry would forget. Glancing through a travel brochure or any information booklet pertaining to far away destinations will reveal more “paradises” than author, John Milton could lose in three lifetimes. The point I’m trying to make is simple. I’m always skeptical when a potential vacation spot is presented as a paradise. Similar to the way that one suspect golfer always plays their best rounds when you’re not there, the world is apparently filled with millions of tropical paradises, golf “Meccas,” World Class Destinations, and every other term that marketing firms can coin before their first coffee break. To say that I was skeptical when I boarded my three hour flight to the Dominican Republic is as vast an understatement as saying that Augusta National is a pretty neat golf course.
