GolfThere.com is a division of Fairways Golf Vacations, Inc., which was founded in 1990.  The company quickly grew into one of the largest golf tour operators in the USA.  In its first two years, Fairways was known as Bayside Publishing and simply put ads and phone listings for area golf courses in its beach area publication.  As with many successful business ideas, timing is often fortuitous. Coincidentally, in the early '90's, the largest public golf course project in history was beginning in Fairways' home state of Alabama.  The company now has nearly two decades of experience booking packages for the world-famous Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Trail of 26 resort quality courses throughout Alabama.  We estimate that we have booked over a quarter of a million rounds at the RTJ Trail alone!  We also have the distinction of serving as the official vacation packager for the Audubon Golf Trail in Louisiana and the Natural State Golf Trail of Arkansas.

In late 2008, an investment group led by travel industry veteran, Alan Hale, purchased Fairways and rebranded the company as Fairways Golf Vacations.  Now, the newest division (GolfThere.com) has finished its "total makeover" and has new up-to-date and state of the art technology platforms.  Our President, Alan Hale, is the former CEO and owner of one of the largest travel agencies in the country and brings over 25 years of travel industry and executive management experience to the company.  A self-described "addicted" golfer, he brings a new focus on building the company in several ways.  First and foremost, Fairways’ goal is to ALWAYS Deliver Ultimate Customer Service (DUCS) very time its clients interact with the company. Secondly, we will provide access to some of the finest golf courses in the world and insure that our customers have the best in resort or hotel accommodations with suppliers that share our values - the customer comes first.  Lastly, Alan and his team want their customers to provide feedback on the service that they receive and the quality of the hotels, cars, golf courses and amenities that they encounter when traveling with GolfThere.com.  If for any reason any of the golf vacation components fail to provide the best in service and value, then our team wants to correct your situation to your satisfaction immediately.

Directions from the Birmingham, Alabama airport to Headquarters:
Exit the airport and take a right on the ramp to I-20/59 West/South towards Downtown/Tuscaloosa. As you pass downtown, move to the left lanes and take I-65 South towards Montgomery.  After approximately 12 miles, move to the right lanes and take high speed exit ramp #250 to I-459 South/West towards Tuscaloosa. After one mile, exit at the first ramp to your right, which is the #13 U.S. 31 South (Hoover) exit.  As you exit, bear to the left and turn left at the light on to U.S. 31S. Take U.S. 31S for approximately one mile, the Galleria Shopping mall will be on your right. Continue south and pass Crown Mercedes at the intersection of AL 150 and proceed past the Marriott Courtyard. Chase Corporate Center is the large office complex on your right just after the Marriott Courtyard (see photo). Use the second entrance which is just past the traffic light.  Please proceed to visitor parking and then take an elevator to the 4th floor.  Welcome to GolfThere's hometown of Birmingham.
