The Phoenician

If Scottsdale is in the middle of the desert, you would never know it by looking at the Phoenician. The sound of trickling water echoes throughout every marbled hallway, and reverberates off every banister ceiling. Dine in over 10 restaurants, although we do not suggest doing it all in just one night. Pools refresh golfers from their fairway toils, and the excellent retail shops, tennis courts, and Cactus Garden can occupy the time of those who would rather not golf. We recommend that golf vacationers check out the $25 million art collection, where viewers can gaze upon French Tapestries, Navajo Rugs, Oil Paintings, and, of course, Macaroni Art. Travelers are encouraged to submit their own art in exchange for discounts, and door prizes are often given to the most vocal “art critic” of the day. Rooms are spacious and accommodations are limitless. A cheerful, pleasant resort staff awaits your beck and call, but they will not—under any circumstances—fix your backswing or your slice.

GolfThere.com’s Fast Facts

1) The view. It’s hard to explain the gratifying view of a private balcony after shooting even, so we won’t even try.
2) $25 Million Art Collection is worth, well, a glancing over.
3) Poolside service is a wonderful thing.
4) Try to frown when walking into your room. We failed every time.
5) 10 restaurants mean 10 opportunities to destroy that diet.
