Poston Butte Golf Club
Poston Butte is a very unique course, one that golfers are sure to remember after they play it. The course is long, over 7,000 yards, so par 5’s are excellent practice for big hitters. Lack of overgrowth around the fairways does ease the mind after a stray ball is hit, but overall this Gary Panks course is not an easy one.
Island greens, stacked stone walls, and scattered bunkers add to the difficulty of the course. The most memorable part of Poston Butte is the view of an ruined Apache temple that can be seen from the fairways. The pyramid-shaped temple, sitting atop a butte, was reconstructed in the 1800’s by Charles Poston and serves an an icon of the southwest.
