Sanctuary Golf Course

Designed by Randy Heckenkemper, Sanctuary sits on the land of a former Bureau of Reclamation’s storm water retention area. The course is also located next to Westworld, a nationally recognized equestrian center and special events facility. This fertile area is an excellent home for native plant life, making the course vibrant with life and color. Sanctuary also sits at the foot of the McDowell Mountains, and the views in the distance from the course are amazing. Sanctuary Golf Course has been awarded Audubon Signature Status for its environmental  efforts and is the first Arizona course, the 17th worldwide, to achieve this status. To attain the coveted certification as an Audubon Signature Property, the Audubon’s requirements were incorporated into the earliest design phases of the course’s development to manage issues such as wildlife habitat enhancement, water quality management and conservation, waste reduction and management and pest control.
