Southern Dunes Golf Club

Southern Dunes is known for its incredible views from every hole and its Scottish links style. Designed by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, with help from Fred Couples, Southern Dunes is reminiscent of the Scottish courses where the game began. Located in Maricopa, Arizona, Southern Dunes is near the Gila River Indian Reservation. The deep bunkers and thick grasses add difficulty to the course. Because the greens are small, golfers will be able to exercise their short game skills and birdie putts will not be easy. Schmidt and Curley placed a lot of emphasis on bunker creation, in efforts to make Southern Dunes more like the Scottish courses and their flash bunkers can be seen all over the course.
