We Ko Pa - Cholla Course
The Scott Miller designed Cholla Course at We Ko Pa has been referred to as the defining course of desert golf. Built in 2001, Cholla has acquired many honors and accolades since its opening, including a prestigious Golf Digest rating of 4 ½ stars. Located on the land of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, We Ko Pa weaves through virtually untouched desert, with no residential or commercial buildings in sight. Endless mountain range and various desert plant life are the only out of bounds markers you will see. Among the many awards of the Cholla course is the #10 ranking on the Sports Illustrated list of “Best New Public Courses in the World” shortly after its opening, and its #2 ranking on the 2006 Golfweek list of the state’s “Best Public Courses.”
