Making the #34 ranking in Golf Digest's "100 Greatest Public Courses in America" in May 2009, Black Lake Golf Club is an immaculate course. Every hole could be considered a signature hole and the course itself is environmentally responsible. Rees Jones, the course architect, aimed to design a course that would blend well with the natural terrain and was not interested in using anything artificial or contrived in his design. The 'little course' is a 9 hole par - 3 intended to introduce young players to the sport, as well as sharpen the skills of the veteran players.
