Winter is coming - Summer Deals still worth a look!

Brace yourselves. The summer heat is upon us, and it makes us more than ready for the arrival of fall and winter. Early morning rounds become a must during this season, but for those of you who see heat stroke as just another hazard on the golf course, this time of year can have you playing bucket list golf courses at a fraction of the "high season" cost. We’ve compiled a TOP TEN list of some of the best plays in golf that are cheaper than the temperature of the air you’ll be playing in. Grab some sunscreen, hydrate, and save big on GolfThere’s hottest (we are so sorry for that pun) top 10 list.

Price Tag < Local Heat Index (< that means less than!)

1.) Troon North Pinnacle (Scottsdale, AZ) –Scottsdale in July is understandably a great way to see digits you’ve never seen on a thermometer before, but paying less than triple digits for one of the most famous courses in the western half of the US is downright cool.

2.) Grand Bear (Biloxi, MS) – Hot and humid is a staple in the summer down South, but you can cool off after the round with some ice cold sweet tea and all the seafood you can eat.

3.) Dove Mountain (Tucson, AZ) – Host your own "match play" tournament amongst friends and marvel out loud that somewhere so warm could actually have had snow delays for two years during the PGA tournaments.

4.) Kiva Dunes (Gulf Shores, AL) – At least there is a sea breeze on a few of the holes! No one is going to blame you for following your ball into the water hazard.

5.) PGA West Stadium Course (La Quinta, CA) – It’s the best of both worlds! A vision quest in the desert induced by dehydration, and a challenging golf round that will require your best shots on even the mildest of days.

6.) Amelia Island Ocean Course (Jacksonville, FL) –At least there is shade under the thousands of trees lining the fairways, and players have been known to crawl into the ocean for a brief reprieve on the infamous oceanfront holes.

7.) Grand Cypress (Orlando, FL) – The surrounding resort is a welcoming oasis after your round, and if you time your round right, a 30 minute thunderstorm will give you a much needed break indoors to rehydrate.

8.) Grand National Lakes Course (Opelika, AL) – If the pros who missed the grade to play at "The Open" (Brits don't like for us to say the British Open) can play the course in pants next week, you can more than handle the heat in shorts! Shirts are still required.

9.) Tiburon Golf Club (Naples, FL) –Swanky…swampy…somehow you can have both for less than it costs to valet your car for the weekend.

10.The Golf Club of Savannah (Savannah, GA) – If you can’t shrug off a slightly roasting round on the ferry ride across the river into the historic district, maybe summer golf just isn’t for you…
